Special Event: SAF Town Hall Meeting - Phoenix, February 16th

Join us for a Town Hall Meeting to build the Second Amendment Family. Join us to stress the importance of firearms for self-defense. Building public support of all gun owners is critical in the on-going challenge to keep these rights.

This is where you come in. We want — no, we need you to join us. Bring your friends, neighbors, and family members. Bring anyone who will benefit from learning more our valued right to keep and bear arms.

Circle Sunday, February 16, 2 to 4 in the afternoon on your calendar. Come to the Second Amendment Family Town Hall meeting in Phoenix, at the Sheridan Crescent Hotel, 2620 West Dunlap Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona 85021.

At the Town Hall Meeting, you will:

View the video segment from “A More of Less Perfect Union,” Free To Choose Media’s PBS series on the Constitution, the rare occasion when PBS promotes the value of the 2nd Amendment.

Share a message from Alan Gottlieb founder of the 2nd Amendment Foundation

View a video message from Bob Levy, Cato Chairman; Chris Cheng, a Top Shot Champion, and Nadine Strossen, Professor of Law at NYU

Meet national gun rights leaders like Mark Walters host of Armed American Radio

Discuss the basics of safe use of guns for self-protection
Discuss the value of flint lock firearms in gaining support for the 2nd Amendment

The Town Hall Meeting will be filmed and recorded for a future nation-wide webcast. We will be spreading our message around the country. We will let other people and politicians know of our support for the Second Amendment. We want to get all gun rights advocates, including the silent majority among us, to start showing our support for this Constitutional right.

This is your chance to become a Second Amendment First Responder on national television!

RSVP – ASAP to AlanGottlieb@SAF.org.

Your assignment, bring a friend who doesn’t own guns or does some hunting but avoids the gun debate. We have room for just 200 so it will fill up fast. We’ll have some great snacks, a maple sugar gift to take home and plenty of soft drinks.

"At least 60 people were in the audience on Tuesday evening to watch the City Council unanimously approve a resolution declaring Bullhead City to be Arizona’s first Second Amendment Sanctuary City.

"The resolution, proposed by council members Steve D’Amico and Sheila Shutts, cited the 1791 adoption of the Second Amendment as well as various U.S. Supreme Court cases related to it.

"It then went on to reaffirm the city’s commitment to support the United States and Arizona constitutions and state laws and expressed the council’s commitment to “take all actions within its powers as granted by the laws of Arizona, to support and defend the rights and liberties for individuals to keep and bear arms as guaranteed by the U.S. and Arizona Constitution ...”

"Mohave County just declared itself a sanctuary county — for gun rights."

"Mohave County, which covers the northwest corner of Arizona, is the first local jurisdiction in Arizona to declare itself a "Second Amendment Sanctuary County." The county joins a smattering of other local jurisdictions in the United States that have adopted measures proclaiming protections for the Second Amendment."

The La Paz County Board of Supervisors has declared the county to be a Second Amendment Sanctuary.

At their meeting Feb. 3, the board unanimously adopted Resolution No. 2020-2, which declares the county will not assist in enforcement of any federal laws determined to violate right to bear arms under the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

La Paz County joins a growing nationwide movement from local governments to declare their jurisdictions Second Amendment Sanctuaries. More than 400 municipalities in 20 states have done so. In Virginia, more than 120 counties and municipalities have declared themselves Second Amendment Sanctuaries following new gun control legislation from the Democrat-controlled state government.

The Apache County Board of Supervisors is meeting on Tuesday, February 4th, at the County Annex Building, 75 West Cleveland Street, St. Johns, Arizona.  The meeting starts at 8:30 AM.

The agenda has not yet been posted, but word is District III Supervisor, Travis Simshauser has submitted a “consent” resolution for the Board to declare Apache County as a Second Amendment Sanctuary County.

While the meeting is open to the public, we’re hearing that the best way to show support for the resolution is via email to the County Manager/Clerk of the Board, Ryan Patterson at rpatterson@co.apache.az.us.

Here's the current status of Second Amendment Sanctuaries across America.

Many Sanctuary County resolutions have passed in response to anti-Second Amendment laws being pushed at the state level.

With your help, we can be proactive rather than reactive and pass Second Amendment Sanctuary Resolutions or Ordinances across Arizona.

Contact us at az2amovement@gmail.com if you'd like to get involved.

After Mohave County adopted its Second Amendment Sanctuary Resolution on November 4th, 2019, the Yavapai County proclamation is part of an ongoing coordinated push for Second Amendment Sanctuaries throughout the entire state of Arizona.

We have a sample version of a Second Amendment Sanctuary document (for use as an ordinance, resolution, declaration, proclamation, etc., the ordinance being the strongest, and therefore the ideal), for you to take to your county Board of Supervisors for introduction.

Send us a message at az2amovement@gmail.com if you are interested and we can provide you with an editable version.

Remember: this Movement starts with YOU!
